Marvin is heading out tomorrow to play for a Christmas concert at the church we attended while living in Detroit. I've learned over the years...the hard way, if I need to discuss an important matter it's best to save it until he returns. It's not wise to bring up a something that I know won't be resolved on the fly.
In order for him to effectively minister while he's away, he needs to be focused and leaving an unresolved issue at home is a distraction. Timing is a crucial when approaching subjects that are touchy.
When he returns, ask the Lord to show you when it is a good time to discuss what's on your heart, as well as, what to say. In the right atmosphere, and in the right tone, victory is assured every time.
Thank you so much for that word of wisdom.
ReplyDeleteI, too, say thank you for this word of wisdom.
ReplyDeleteKim, I'm loving this discovery! Your blog is a blessing. Although I'm not an industry musician's wife, I am the wife of a gifted man of God who has served in ministry by wearing many hats... drummer, graphic design artist, pastor's mechanic, photographer, event historian, yard-guy and the all-around right-hand man. (whew!) We have both served well in ministry for more than 12 yrs of our 15 yr marriage and now we're obedient to the call of ministering to marriages and family through relationship coaching thru our non-profit, Optimum Lifestyle CDC, and personal ministry (facebook.com/EricElaineOnLife). Your wisdom is a treasure and I so love your last paragraph encouraging women to use wisdom, timing and proper tone when handling issues that arise within the marriage/family relationship. You sound like me, sharing my tools of trade about my own marriage. If women can understand our "power" and that wisdom is our weapon then we won't wrestle so much within ourselves with what looks like weakness. I'm glad I found your blog and am also glad to know that you're part of the Houston, Texas family now, too! Woo-hoo! Hope to learn more of you soon. In wisdom! -Elaine
